Designed for Middle & High School Students
Math Help: a tutoring opportunity to assist students with mathematics. Designed for children ages 12-18. Students will build their math confidences, problem-solve with the teacher, and be supported and encouraged that they can do the math. Materials to bring: a pencil, notebook and math book.

Engineering & Inventing: a class which teaches basic engineering concepts for children ages 15-19. Students will learn the engineering design process, inventive prototyping, collaboration with team members, and presentation skills. This is a project-based class where students work together during class time. Students will give presentations on the last day of class.
Begins: Monday, February 10, 2:00-3:00pm, once a week for 12 weeks.

Teacher: Monica Nudd has nearly 20 years of teaching experience, with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree. She developed an engineering curriculum for K–12 students with a team at Andrews University and has taught at all levels, including as a principal. In January 2024, she taught
chemistry classes for homeschoolers in Summerville, using hands-on projects and engaging challenges.
Previous Classes:
Chemistry Lab: a class which teaches basic laboratory and chemistry skills designed for students ages 15-18. Students will learn lab safety, collaboration with partners, develop critical thinking and problem solving skills while participating in lab experiments.
Materials needed: a pencil and notebook. A list of a list of easy to find supplies will be sent a week in advance, so parents can prepare and students can participate along with their lab partner.
Requirements: students must have basic reading and writing skills to be successful in this class. Previous knowledge of high school algebra is also recommended.
Begins: Thursday, March 14, 1pm (Eastern), once a week for eight weeks
Where: Live via Zoom for 50 minutes
Registration: $20, reserves your child’s spot and make the commitment to show up for eight weeks. Registration fee is due upon completion of registration form and nonrefundable.
Class Cost: $28 per family, per week. Families will receive the Zoom link for the live interactive class, materials list in advance, printable instructions to do the experiment at home with the teachers, and an extension opportunity to continue the learning.
